Rehabilitative Bodywork

This is a treatment with a more manual and structurally focused approach then a "typical" massage is assumed to be - It involves functional movement assessment, joint mobilization, hands on-techniques to address soft tissue dysfunction, and neuromuscular reeducation. A unique multidisciplinary hands-on approach is utilized to restore structural balance throughout the body, decrease symptoms, increase mobility, activate, lengthen, and reeducate muscles and movements to restore a pain-free lifestyle. This type of treatment is typically done with little if any lotion and the client is generally in athletic wear. More specifically, the focus is on finding the specific areas with the most restriction and addressing that area. Expanded sessions take the issue a step further, traveling with and through the found restrictions to help relieve the problematic area as well as the associated issues. This type of bodywork approaches the body from superficial to deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, using various techniques to aid in the healing process to relieve areas of the body that are in distress.

Corrective Exercise and Other Therapeutic Recovery Sessions:

The focus of these sessions is determined by the client's goals after acquiring an informative background. Together, we create customized treatment plans that meet the needs of the individual, across a range of therapeutic practices. Clients benefit from a combination of recovery services, such as hydrotherapy, assisted stretching, cupping, Theragun (percussive therapy), infrared heat, Instrument assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, and Kinesiotaping. Additionally these sessions include corrective movement education performed in the office and as homework, including lengthening, activating, integrated movement, and other self-care strategies. Clients are introduced to the benefits of stretch bands, flossing, resistance bands, therapy balls, and self care tools. This approach is a great adjunct to the manual work and is very effective for in-between bodywork sessions to provide relief, improve physical functioning faster, preventing further injury, and decreasing discomfort in the body.

Infrared Therapy

The BioMat’s unique medical and therapeutic properties are based on Nobel prize-winning research into ionic channels and the same infrared technology that NASA identified as the safest and most beneficial type of light wave.  By producing deep-penetrating, far infrared rays along with negative ions that activate the body at the molecular level, the BioMat is capable of administering deep stimulation and healing. The BioMat has undergone rigorous third-party testing, including FDA registration and ISO certification.  The efficacy of the device’s far infrared rays has been confirmed by the Korea Institute of Far Infrared Applied Estimation.

Kinesiotaping

A rehabilitative taping technique that was designed to help facilitate the body’s natural healing process, helping to provide support and stability to muscles and joints. "The Kinesio® Taping Method is a therapeutic taping technique not only offering the patient the support they are looking for, but also rehabilitating the affected condition as well. By targeting different receptors within the somatosensory system, Kinesio® Tex Tape alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin.  This lifting affect forms convolutions in the skin thus increasing interstitial space and allowing for a decrease in inflammation of the affected areas."  It will also provide clients with extended and continued benefits of the manual therapy/soft tissue manipulation  up to 3-5 days after session. (Initial Application is complimentary with session)
