Please allow yourself a moment to consider this question: If you had less pain and dis-ease in your body, would you be a more productive and happier person? Have you sought out other solutions to your physical issues and explored other therapies with little success or not enough progress? If you experience pain, whether related to sports injuries, repetitive movement, lack of movement, or other painful conditions (I.e. Arthritis), manual therapy may be a key therapeutic component missing in obtaining your recovery goals. Sometimes the causes of discomfort can be from chronic or old injuries and creep up seemingly out of nowhere. Often people are told it is just the "inevitable aging process." If you suffer from acute or chronic back pain, restricted motion, headaches, TMJ dysfunction, neck strain, shoulder issues, hip imbalances, you may be to the point you want to try a different type of therapy, either as an alternative to or in conjunction with another type of therapy you are already receiving. Therapeutic bodywork & Manual Therapy can provide incredible assistance in pain relief and rehabilitation. There are valuable benefits to this type of therapy including increased joint mobility, more muscle flexibility and movement, and decreased levels of discomfort.
My training is in a variety of therapeutic modalities and the treatments are typically conducted using a multidisciplinary approach, determined by the purpose of your visit, and any visual or postural assessments made. Most treatments are done in athletic wear. My educational background was built from Swedish Massage and Shiatsu (including modalities such as Hot Stones and Chair Massage) and has now developed with further experiences and training in Medical Massage, Orthopedic Massage, Structural-Visceral Approaches, Myofascial Release, Pre & Post-Natal Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, and Kinesiotaping. I am also a Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist and enjoy working with clients to restore healthy, functional movement. Working from within a rehabilitative perspective involves assisting clients to live in less pain and take better care of themselves. Client participation in therapy and rehabilitative work makes results more effective.
